Meet The Team

Yvonne Melotte

B.Com, M.Com, Dip.Ed.

Director - strategy, personal economics

Over the past 15 years Yvonne has held various management positions. This followed a career as a consultant and economist in the private sector and academia extending over more than 20 years. Yvonne worked on mutual funds in Boston, USA, and as a bank economist in Toronto, Canada.

She has provided professional economic advice to property developers and local government authorities and worked on a range of feasibility studies. Her focus before joining OpesOn has been on business development in an international environment.

At OpesOn Yvonne is responsible for financial management coupled with Expert Panel obligations and is an Economist of the Strategy Team.

She enjoys reading, films, her Maltese dogs and walking.

 

Barry Chapman JP

B.Com; MIR (WA); M.S. (Oregon) FCPA

Corporate Consultant - accounting, taxation

Barry is a Fellow of CPA Australia. He has been teaching and writing curriculum in Accounting and related subjects at University level since 1977. Barry developed one of the first Computer Accounting packages to be used in Australia for teaching Accounting students.

This knowledge and experience has enabled Barry to develop our current Accounting training packages. In conjunction with Paul, he is responsible for training Members in the use of computer packages for their business, including customising the packages to suit individual businesses and everyday professional investors.

He has wide experience in business including some time as a Branch Manager of a leading bank and over 25 years as a practicing accountant.

Barry has developed and delivers training programs to OpesOn Members in Accounting and Cash Flow Management in addition to his Expert Panel responsibilities.

Barry is a keen Golfer and has been a Club Champion. He is interested in many sports and is a member of the Western Australian Cricket Association.

 

Barrie Melotte

Corporate Consultant - property development, town planning specialist

Barrie provides to OpesOn the benefit of 40 years experience as an architect and town planner. His experience has covered all aspects of these professions in the public and private sector as well as academia, having taught virtually every Town Planner to come out of Western Australia in the last 30 years; his ability to communicate with councils is well respected.

Barrie gained experience as an architect and urban designer whilst working in Melbourne, Boston, USA, Toronto, Canada, and Edinburgh before focusing on town planning and urban development.  He has provided professional services and advice to all levels of government both as a private consultant and the Deputy Commissioner for Town Planning, Tasmania, including subdivisions and the design of neighbourhoods, local government strategy plans and Australia’s first State Strategy Plan.

As a consultant, he has worked with private developers on projects as varied as leisure resorts, shopping malls and residential developments.

As a member of the Expert Panel Barrie is responsible for OpesOn PLANNING the results of which speak volumes for his mastery of the relevant legislation and ability to communicate clearly with approving authorities.

His experience as a Town Planner is exceptional and Barrie has previously served as the President of the Planning Institute of Australia.

He is a strong supporter of Australian Rules Football and very vocal in his support of the Fremantle Dockers.

Alex Smith

Corporate Consultant – service excellence

Alex has had 30 years experience as a manager and executive with a large multi national (IBM Australia) including General Manager for IBM Global Services New Zealand. He has held a number of strategic roles in Australia responsible for Customer Service, Business Planning and Client Satisfaction.

He has a proven record in delivering targeted business results while at the same time building and developing a team of motivated individuals.

The professional skill Alex provided as Managing Director in 2006/7 served to elevate our organisational development and was a cornerstone to the OpesOn culture we enjoy today and reinforces the doctrines of ensuring success through optimised resources.

Alex has an excellent insight into Member satisfaction drivers and was responsible for developing measurement tools and a means to communicate Member satisfaction results at the corporate level.  OpesOn is very serious about Member satisfaction and the delivery of services.

Alex enjoys all manner of sports and has recently taken up hiking, he is a quarter of the way through walking the Bibbulmun Track and looks forward to (one day) completing the entire 1,000 kilometers from Perth to Albany.

Iain has wide experience in the consulting and finance industries gained over more than a decade of senior positions working directly with assisting the betterment people’s lives.

As the founder of OpesOn he has been responsible for the development of the unique understandings provided to our clients.

Based on his academic training and extensive experience in Finance Companies, a major bank and as a SME Management Consultant then coupled with the particular specialties of the Expert Panel he geared these understandings to produce accelerated yet controlled success in the modern economy.

Iain’s focus is sound strategies and protocols organised in a unique and personalised format combined with forward planning and ongoing ‘life wealth’ management as the key to Mastering your Personal Economy and to achieve accelerated advancement.

Iain leads the OpesOn Strategy Team who apply the ‘understandings’ and distills the intellect of the Expert Panel into personalised solutions for everyday situations.

Having received a ‘half blue’ for Rugby Union at University for National representation and promotion of the sport, Iain is an inaugural member of the Western Force and also follows Australian Rules Football.

Paul McEvedy

Paul holds Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Management, Finance, Accounting and Law.

Paul has extensive experience in both Teaching at University, as a Practising Accountant and also as a Practising Lawyer. He has held positions as the Company Secretary of several Public Companies.

Paul, in conjunction with Barry, is responsible for development and implementation of the training programs for our Members and Expert Panel duties in the fields of Accounting, Taxation and Law.

Paul’s main leisure activity is the Golden Oldies Rugby in which he has participated in the World Championships. Paul is a New Zealander by birth, but has lived in Australia for over 30 years.

 

Suzanne (Sue) Melotte

National CEO - logistics, process optimisation

Over 18 years Sue has successfully made the transition from the Australian Army as a Commissioned Officer responsible for strategic logistics and personnel management to the private sector in senior management and as a logistics consultant within a wide variety of industries including a Fortune 500 company.

Previously, the Commanding Officer of the Melbourne University Regiment (MUR) as a Lieutenant Colonel, Sue presently is the Deputy Director of the Command and Control Implementation Team - Logistics (DDC2IT-Log) Australian Army, Canberra.

Being responsible for quality assurance, Sue continuously defines and improves the process and service systems at OpesOn.

Based in Canberra, Sue is developing systems for remote management whilst ensuring delivery of consistent personal service in accordance with organisational guidelines to maintain our personal touch through future growth.

Sue loves to travel and follows all codes of football, developing a particular interest in the finer points of Rugby Union. Sue has recently introduced a bag of golf clubs to her morning walks and is enjoying the new challenge.
